Art History Essay-Baroque era
Select artwork from the Baroque era that catches your eye. This can be any work of art that reminds you of an event from your own life or otherwise elicits some kind of emotional reaction. Exclude those pieces that are featured in the Case 2 assignment (Bernini’s sculpture Ecstasy of St. Teresa and Caravaggio’s painting, Crucifixion of St. Peter).
Write a 2- to 3-page paper discussing how the work of your choice reflects the typical values and characteristics of Baroque art. In other words, how the artwork represents its respective style. Include information about typical Baroque characteristics, a description of the artwork, and some biographical information about the artist.
Prepare a 2- to 3-page paper using the following guidelines:
- Apply ideas from the background materials.
- Include a cover page with your name and a reference page that lists your sources. These are not included in the total page count.
- Do not include images.
- The paper should be double-spaced with one-inch margins and 12-point font.
